No teen wants to hear they need braces, but we’re here to help you stay stylish while your smile gets straighter, ultimately building your confidence in the long run.
Options for Braces
Getting braces may not be as bad you you think. When teens are told they need braces, they often only envision the metal options they’ve seen on other people. This is usually not the case as Dr. Lewis offers her patients plenty of styles, materials, and an array of colors to choose from. After a comprehensive consultation, Dr. Lewis will explain the options, which may include braces you barely see or can’t see at all.

Do braces take forever?
A lot can factor into how long you’ll need to wear braces. One of the most important factors, believe it or not, is you. The two best ways to shorten your treatment time is to take good care of your braces and wear your appliances as prescribed. It will make a much bigger difference than you may think.
Although not everyone receives orthodontic treatment early, this too can play a big role in how long it takes to build your smile. Don’t wait, or push it off, because in many cases the earlier you start, the faster you’ll achieve results. Coming into the office sooner will help Dr. Lewis monitor the growth of your jaw and address issues earlier, preventing a lot of work being done later in life.
The hardest factor to control is what needs corrected. The amount of time it takes to correct problems will vary from patient to patient based on a number of factors. The greater the corrections that are needed, the longer the treatment may take. It’s also important to remember that each patient is unique and it’s not uncommon for a patient to react to the same treatment differently than another one did. In order to get the best results, in the shortest amount of time, each patient has to actively engage in their treatment plan by following advice from Dr. Lewis.
